What are some different techniques you use to do ombré highlights in your salon?!

Using foils at the ends sorta like highlight but only putting bleach at the bottom

Use foils as a highlighting but tease the hair where you want the ombré to start

The way I usually do is take big sections and tease them then Put the bleach on what's left of my tease , but it's so hard to comb all of it out when it's done..

It's a new trend for hair color, a lot of people do the really dark and blonde on the bottom, here is one i done on my client with red hair

Is it possible to do the opposite of that? What about light on top and dark tips?

Don't do it! Overdone and not what it used to be.

Foils at the bottom while teasing to have a melting effect. Seems to be a popular way.

That's the only way I have seen so far, it sucks for you & the client thought combing the tease out

I also do it by using foils at the bottom and teasing the hair with a small amount of bleach/tint. I was also taught the "lacing technique" as well. It's where you back comb each small section of hair (but being careful to cause no/little damage to the hair), then apply the bleach/tint to the hair which isn't back combed (as these strands of hair are now at different lengths giving the Ombré look) and you cover the bleach/tint with foils. You can do it without foils too however, I much prefer to do it with the foils just to be on the safe side! It's a fun colouring technique but it can be difficult to keep all of the ends out when back combing however, it also looks nice even when not all of the ends are left out of the back comb.

I prefer the other way though because it's more dramatic :)

Try this method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVktKe7CdkQ&list=UUMXAhKtw5zg3mVAoIhJZ3yQ&feature=player_detailpage

my fav is weaving and slicing. I weave a section about a inch or 2 away from scalp and then slice the next section buffing the bleach a little less than half way up then repeat. I do the crown last and I also dont go up as high w the weaving and slicing.
