So, I have a question. I used to bleach my hair very often because I needed to for the color of my hair, Ever since my hair feels and looks like horse hair it's damaged it's fried even when I don't do anything to it. It's too short to just start out and cut it off, I also have a scene haircut so it's a bit hard to not straighten it ot else it doesn't look right. But any idea's to fix it because I have to bleach my hair soon to do a certain color in it, I need help asap please<3

Aveda has a product called Damage remedy daily hair repair and it works wonders. It helps replace protein back into your hair and serves as a heat protectant. I thinks it's around $24. I use it on most of my clients with damaged hair.

I'm looking for something that I can use to help my hair but I need to bleach my hair also so I was thinking beach it and dye it and stuff and then use that?

There's really no cure if you're going to continue to bleach your hair! You can deep condition, use protein packs, and avoid heat as much as possible. Are you bleaching all your head or just roots?

I'm bleaching all of my head but just once to do pink. and then when it fades I'm going back to black.

I would stop bleaching & coloring your hair. Try a hot oil treatment & a good conditioner along with a leave in conditioner. I recommend Matrix Biolage products, specifically the 'Conditioning Balm'. AMAZING!!

Hot oil treatments aren't good for fried hair, because its (hot) , I highly recommend you use Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi shampoo & cream rinse! Also if you know a salon that focuses on Paul Mitchell I suggest you ask for a PM Awapuhi wild ginger keratin treatment! I use the shampoo and cream rinse everyday and my hair is the healthiest it has ever been!

Please please don't do black! As a hairstylist we have so many color corrections where the hair is damaged & way too dark! The black will be nearly impossible to change unless u bleach it and even then it probably won't get too blonde. Your hair will then we extra fried!!! Products that could help, almost any Argan oil , Redken anti snap & purology shampoo/conditioners. Good luck!! :)

Pro Naturals has a moroccan argan oil line dedicated to damaged and over processed hair, you should look into them. I'm currently using their argan oil hair mask for repair and it's working nicely.

Like others have said, if you're going to continue to bleach and color your hair there isn't much you can do at this point. I know that I will never bleach or color my hair black ever, ever, ever again! Buuut, if you're going to bleach/color it I would recommend using Rusk Sensories Smoother leave-in conditioner.. I just posted about how much I love it and I only just used it for the first time within the last hour. I can't even explain how much better my hair looks. It looked so dry and horrible and now it looks really healthy and shiny. I'd also recommend doing deep conditions with virgin coconut oil

I used to have damaged hair too and I recovered my hair with pro naturals moroccan argan oil hair treatment kit which has some good products that helped me to have healthy hair again. I bought it online at safrons.com :P

What color is your hair now? Since you have bleached your hair quite often, I'm assuming its a dark color over a bleached base? Try using a color stripper like "Color Oops" instead of bleach if you did not dye your hair with a vegetable stain. (Vegetable stains would include things like manic panic, special effects, etc). I haven't used a stripper on black hair, but I have actually read that it will lift black after an application or two(used precisely as the directions advise). Color Oops is ammonia and bleach free, but there are other color strippers that do have ammonia in them. I have used Color Oops on red to blonde hair and it worked amazingly, so I do believe that black can make headway, if not complete removal in a few applications. It will probably bring it down to a light ginger base, but depending on what pink you want, that may be sufficient without having to bleach on top of that. If you're going bright pink it will probably be good enough after using a stripper, if you wanted a pastel pink, you would definitely have to use the bleach to achieve a pale enough base.

I had black hair and it was in amazing condition, the best it has ever been in. I did an ombre on top of that then bleached the rest of it so I could go completely red, about 2 years ago and my hair is still completely damaged from the transition! You are probably going to have issues with your hair for a long time if you keep bleaching and bleaching and bleaching. I would at least consider staying a lighter color after the pink incase you want to go from the black to another light color again-just a suggestion. I always end up doing whatever I want usually against people's advise, so I understand if you wouldn't like that idea.

Other people seem to have been telling you tons of great ideas for restrengthening your hair and I agree with most of them. My hair is bleached to a grey/white/violet at the moment and it LOOKS and feels great, though I know its completely damaged. I use argan oil-or any kind of oil like that, after I shower. I put it on my ends (from the nape of the neck down) when I get out of the shower and it seems to lock in moisture more than when I don't use the argan oil. I recently bought the Aussie 3-Minute Miracle deep conditioner that was recommended to me, I've used it twice, and my hair feels so soft! I was pretty skeptical since it is quite inexpensive, but I dig it so far. I use clip in extensions everyday, so I need to heat style my hair to blend into my extensions every morning, I've been trying to use heat protectant sprays-I've been sampling a few, I haven't figured out a preference for one brand though. Since you straighten your hair a lot, I would definitely recommend hopping on the protectant train.

Hope some of that may help

Please, please, give your hair a rest - if you continue to bleach it and use lots of heat your hair is going to start breaking off by the handful. If you really want to improve the condition I'd recommend getting as much of the damage cut off as possible and stop colouring and using heat. Using oils and treatments can lessen the appearance of damage but once your hair is fried there's pretty much no return.

Try to restore the natural oils in your hair by putting in some olive oil or mayo in your hair.. For about 25-35 mins. Then take a shower, but a thy rough shower.. You should notice a difference right away, you're ends won't be split, instead stuck back together. (Use a hair net or put up in a bun while the oil or mayo is in your hair)

instead of using bleach , use a color stripper, because if youve bleached your hair not long ago it will come out blonde with no more damage than you have, and if your not satisfied with the color to make it lighter, dye it blonde after:)

No more permanent coloring or bleach.. Replace your conditioner with a deep conditioner like some of the other girls mentioned.. I don't mean to sound rude at all, but I know exactly where you're coming from because I have been there many times. The only way to healthy hair is to avoid bleach at all costs and use deep conditioners and heat Protectants. Let your hair air dry before flat ironing, and don't use a cheap flat iron ( those damage more). I hope this helps! Good luck!! Xo

If you really want to restore the integrity of your hair, I would stop bleaching it. Also, use quality products. I suggest Kerastase Elixir Ultime and ciment thermique.

Whenever my hair is feeling dry and damaged I put Morrocanoil in my wet, clean hair.

it is because when people blach their hair it looks and feels unhealthy and it makes it un healthy but when you get highlights it makes your hair healthier

Well, you are asking for the impossible. You don't "have" to bleach your hair at all. Dye it a natural shade and call it a day. Say goodbye to the flat iron as well (though you can try hair wrapping as a no-heat alternative to straightening). Coconut oil is very rich and penetrates the hair. It makes an excellent deep conditioner and got rid of my breakage. Make sure it is extra virgin and unrefined only. Use it no more than twice a week, but you may apply to your ends daily. Protein treatments are also important for chemically treated hair. Keep abusing your hair and you will find yourself without any left! If you can't stand the idea of not changing your hair...why not try a wig? This way you're not coloring or damaging your own hair and its a great way to give your hair a rest while still having the look you want.

Look online for the pro naturals system, they use argan oil in their products which is known for preserving hair colour for longer and preventing dry and damaged hair. It also makes hair stronger, shinier and healthier. The oil they sell is especially good, if you combine that with their shampoo then you'll definitely see an improvement.
