Hi this is my first question *waves*
I think the title says it all. How did you learn about right color placement blending and all that. YouTube has so many videos but none of them explain in depth...at least that I've come across. all tips and tricks welcome.

Who knows... I started doing make up wayyyy before I watched youtube videos. And the only time I watched to learn was when I came across Wayne Goss! He goes into depth about make up application and I suggest you watch him! He might have a video as he has for loads of other things, if not maybe if you ask him about it he'll do a video on it!

The basic rule of thumb for most looks is a mid-toned color all over the lid, a dark color in the crease and a light highlight color on the browbone and inner corner. Do you have actual brushes you use? Most of the time the fault lies in the brushes rather than the techniques. A fluffy blending brush will be your best friend if you haven't had one already.

Aubrey yes I have a starter set of brushes but I'm not sure yet which one to use when.

Amber, here's a great post that breaks down each kind of brush and how to use them. Granted, these are using all Bare Escentuals brushes, but there are a million other brands that make the same kind of thing.
