Will the juice of a lime still lighten acne scars the same as the juice of a lemon would? or would vitamin e oil also lighten scars?

Vitamin E cream or oil works wonders! They make burn scars disappear and would do the same for acne with a good routine! I...am not sure of, if this is available to you but Bio - oil is also a wonderful product for scars! :)

The reason lemon is mostly recommended is because its level of acidity is lower. So it's not as harsh on your skin. You can try lime but you'd have to be rally careful because it can cause discoloration.
Vitamin E oil and any oil usually lightens in general. But if you want something for acne scarring try cocoa butter. It should be yellow and smell of it. Mine cost me about $1.75 at Sally's and I got it in a stick form.
I really don't recommend bio oil or you'll go back to stage one of having acne. It's very heavy on clogging your pores, reviews on it aren't so great and I didn't find it to be as effective as cocoa butter.

Ok thanks (: I have both vitamin e oil & the cocoa butter stick so I'll give cocoa butter a try first.

I have a bunch of horrible red acne scars and I've been treating them with lemon juice for about two weeks everyday and they are gradually fading which is awesome I recommend you use that

I loved the Garnier dark spot cream someone else suggested. It was pretty effective without being harsh on my face. I would just suggest wearing a sunscreen no matter what method you choose because any of them could make your skin a little more prone to sunburn :)
