I really want to dye my hair dark blue, but my hair is dark so I know I would have to bleach it. what would be a less damaging way to make my hair lighter?

I've gotten my hair bleached (not by choice, because my hair stylist messed up) and dyed by stylists 3 times in 3 days. My hair didnt show any damage, you should be fine.

You could just tint your dark hair blue with a semi/Demi permanent hair color.

Use a volume 30 or 40 developer since your hair is dark and I use quick blue bleach. It doesn't do any damage to your hair at first but afterwards it will. Make sure after you dye it condition it well and wait a day to dye it the color you want. I would consider you use manic panic because it is also conditions your hair while it dyes it.
