Hey ladies I was wondering how long should you keep on concealer for and when it starts getting old what would it smell like.
I've had my Maybelline fit concealers for a little over a year and I don't remember what they smelled like originally. They don't smell horrible however they don't smell amazing or brand new.

I don't keep certain makeups for over 6 months, mascaras, eyeliners, and most foundations, concealers. I read that they can develop bacteria and actually be harmful for your skin rather than beneficial. The only things I keep after 6 months are lip colors and eyeshadows, and after a year I throw those out. It also depends on how clean you keep your makeup brushes and applicators. Sponges are especially bad about absorbing bacterias and oils. It's really your own preference but mine is 6 months-a year. Hope I helped (:

Also what form the concealer is in. Like urban decay has their concealer in pencil former, therefor helping it last longer just like pencil eyeliners. There are several variables, but once the texture and smell are off, toss it. Keeping it clean (I wash my brushes after every use, clean my pencils after every use, and other makeup regular) helps it last longer for sure.
