I've been thinking about becoming a makeup artist/ hairstylist but want to do makeup and hair for magazing shoots, broad way, and fashion week. I don't really want to work out of a salon or anything. I was wondering if any one in this field can give me any tips on how to get these jobs and if it is hard to find work like this. Thankyou!

do some TFPs you can find these on craigslist and modle mayhem in your area usually. Also call around to local freelance photographers modling aggencies and all that to see if they need anything. Also no sugar coating this you'll probably have to do some jobs for free starting out. Getting your name out there and recomendations. First and for most you need a good portfolio of you dont have one yet keep doing TFP until you get a range of things. You will need this for any interview.

remember your starting out, so who you will being working with they might be a beginner as well. If possible ask the photographer for the "RAW" image/file so you can have an "agency approved retoucher" retouch the work... believe me, it will speed up the process a bit for your book. -good luck !
