The elf tinted moisturiser is so cheap, but I use the lightest shade to mix and lighten foundations and it works perfectly

Sunscreen or moisturizer I think sunscreen could work better since it sometines tend to look white on the skin so it will definitly lighten that baby up.

If you mix it with a moisturizer, that will also make it more sheer. I'd suggest trying to return it and getting a lighter shade if you can.
