My hair went from jaw length to my butt in under 2 years. What I do is shampoo less, comb/brush less, no heat, protein rich diet (I don't do that because of my hair), less silicone products, and I use lots of conditioner, sometimes washing my scalp with light conditioners in the summer.

@ceci Sometimes I've used extra-virgin coconut oil, but massaging without oil works fine , too. The point is just to stimulate blood flow.

so yes, you NEED to get your haircut at least twice a year. the reason why is because you have split ends. split ends are what make your hair look very unhealthy, dead, and straw-like. when you have too many split ends, your hair literally starts to split in half and in all different ways, leaving your hair thin, damaged, and could even potentially become shorter. so go get your hair cut! but here is an IMPORTANT TIP: tell your stylist that you want them to "dust" your hair. what this means is that you want them to take off centimeters of the ends of your hair. a big mistake is telling your stylist that you want a trim. yes, a trim takes off all of the split ends completely, but it also takes inches off of your hair.. and you DO NOT want your stylist to go "scissor happy".
so, when you "dust" your hair, you are essentially leaving some part of your split ends on your hair, although it looks healthy. to help you split ends heal, find a shampoo and conditioner and serum to fix them. the best product that i have found is called nexxus which can be found anywhere (white & grey bottles). it is a little pricey, but it is definitely worth it. at costco wholesale, they sell the perfect package of 3 (shampoo, conditioner, & serum) called pro-mend. when washing your hair, careful not to pull on your hair. also, DO NOT wash your hair every day. washing your hair every day takes out the natural oils which help your hair grow and stay healthy. wash your hair 3-4 times a week.
when brushing your hair, the worst thing you can do is pull, yank, or be careless. brush your hair slowly and smoothly, if you come to a knot, carefully hold the hair by your scalp and brush lightly at the knotted area.
now i know that maybe you hate your natural hair and you have to curl it, straighten it, blow dry it blah blah blah. heat is the worst thing for your hair and taking heat to your hair every day.. girl it is never going to grow. try your best not to take heat to your hair, and if you must then you HAVE TO use heat protector. the heat protector i use is by red-kin (brown bottle) so for everything else, take your vitamins and drink lots of water!
i really hope this helps, i know it helped me!!

There is a Shampoo and conditioner called FAST. It is packed with a bunch of nutrients that make your hair super healthy, soft and shiny. I dont know if it makes your hair grow alot faster, but what i do know is that it made my hair the healthiest its ever been and so that as it was growing out, it was growing out healthy and i didn't need to cut an inch off every hair cut. I think FAST can be found at a bunch of salons and if you cant find it anywhere i think you can order it online. For only around 30$ for both the shampoo and conditioner, you can't go wrong.

Hi,
With the use of good Omega Fish Oils, Castor Oil, trimming ends, eating good source of protein and keeping the hair free of oil build up, I am also aware of the benefits of Rosemary, Chamomile and Green Tea taken internally.
As with all things, it is advisable that proper research is done before partaking of the use of any natural things. Just to ensure the correct preparation care is followed.
