Is there a way to make hair thin, or look like it's thin?

You don't need to cut it, you can ask your salonist to thin it or you can add in layera.

Get layers(: don't thin it out though because I hear it makes your hair frizzy or something like that.

Do not get it layered!! It will make it. I have super think hair and I've been meaning to get it thinned out but the longer it gets the less puffy and think it is so I would wait it out. If you reallu want tho just thin it out. Don't layer it!!

If your hair is thick and curly never thin it. Also layers are good but make sure they are blended layers and not stacked layers. The way you get more volume (correct term for puffy) is by doing stacked. You want them blended into your hair.

Getting your hair thinned breaker the whole cuticle of the hair causing more splits and the hair becomes more frail.
