I heard toothpaste helps remove acne. Is this true or a myth?

It works to dry it out but there are many way better options. Try tea tree oil, honey or burt's bees spot treatment

I used it on a pimple once an it did take it off when I peeled it off but what I had afterwards was just worse -_- don't use it!!

Way back when, when toothpaste was discovered as a rememdy the formula was much different. Since then toothpaste has been adjusted and the current formula doesn't have any properties that would work on reducing a pimple. However, the newer formulas contain a cocktail of chemicals that can damage compromised skin (skin around a blemish). I hope this helps and please be careful

Anupa covered everything I was going to say wonderfully. Please just use a spot treatment cream or gel! Just because something is a home remedy or a natural remedy doesn't always mean it's good for you!! Some things are, definitely, but not all.

I've used it, just a small dab on a pimple and it always works perfectly for me :) it makes the swelling go down and make the pimple less noticeable. It probably just depends on your skin type because it has also worked for other people on this site.
