Fake or Real?

Do you wear fake or real nails? I have real but there really short because they break off and debating about getting fake ones. And if you have fake do you go to the nail place to get them or do you do them yourself?

I go through spurts. Sometimes I wear my real nails and sometimes I wear fake. When I wear fake I do them myself.

I have fake nails! Mine are short and break easily, so that's why I got gel nails. I go to a salon and get them done every 3 weeks or so! I'd recommend getting a gel polish (like Shellac) instead of fake (gel) nails, it's much better for your nails, and you get that similar strength and long-wearing colour.

My natural nails are really soft and thin, so I've been doing acrylic over them for years now. I work with animals, and there have been a couple of times where having that layer of acrylic has saved my fingers from serious injury! (bites, slamming in cage doors, etc.) I tried doing them myself for a while, but it's a big production when you're not set up to do it, and the bottom line is that my own lack of experience and training meant that the finished product was never as good as what a professional could do. As for expense, I've had techs who did wonderful work for $15 (for a fill) and I've paid upwards of $50 for others. It can be expensive if you don't luck into someone who's really good and working in a random tiny shop.

I never wear fake nails - I got acrylics once for my 15th bday & they bugged me. I have strong nails so I'd feel like it'd be a waste to wear fake ones. =]

Because I have naturally long nails, I simply add gel or acrylic onto when I go to have them done. It lasts a long time and looks really nice. It also fun to take off the polish and repaint it yourself. I only get my nails done as a treat to myself though. When I wear my nails naturally because honestly, you can't go wrong with your own nails in my opinion

i have real nails and there was time i wanted fake ones but have your thought of trying shellac or gel nails with tips i suggest going to professional then doing it to yourself for the gel polish but you can go your local drugstore and get yourself fake ones. i did it once and the people at my job thought i did gel nails

I have real nails...now. I bit my nails for over 25 years & did acrylics once in awhile. I found that the acrylics just weakened my nails more & make it harder for them to grow. I was able to quit biting my nails & let them grow (strong & healthy!) by using quality nail products (Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Clear & OPI products for prettiness). My nails aren't wicked long, but long enough for a pretty french manicure.

I have real nails, but my nails grow fast and don't break easily. Still, if my nails didn't grow fast, I still don't think I'd do fake :\ There are ways to aid your nail growth and make your nails stronger though :)
