I don't know why people get offended with this. The upside down is worn by those who want to show humility and unworthiness before Christ. It is St. Peter's cross because he requested to be crucified upside because he did not feel worthy of dying the same way as Jesus. So people should get their facts right and get educated before deciding to be so offended.

No. I don't think it's offensive. If you don't believe then why wear them upright? But some people could take offence as people will to anything. But it is what it is, so don't worry. And you had no say anyways.

If everyone would just respect eachothers views then this wouldn't even be a symbol. but obviously some people have no respect for others.

AJ M, I don't need to do research on it, I probably know more on it than you do due to the fact that I use to find the whole nazi/swastika subject interesting (I don't like it, no where near agree with it, but still find it interesting, the reasoning behind it) and use to read a lot on it.
Todd, I said "TENDS" meaning not all that wear swastikas are christian, and not all Christians wear swastikas, just a lot of those that wear swastikas are Christians, that is a fact. Therefor, everything you just said to me is wrong.

Its not offensive! And plus, if people don't like it then well it just shows your passion for beauty. Fashion is controversy.

Honestly guys, as someone said up here, I think some people are doing much more disrespectful comments that the fact of the necklace in the photo.

I personally I do not like the necklace, but I was not the stylist. I just make my job the best I could. the goal was to get a look inspired by a current, modern mermaid. and what I pretended was that you check my job, besides giving me your opinion on whether this was offensive or not and because I really wanted to know the opinion of people who would do offend, and why, and who know the reason or the meaning of that.

Anyway, I appreciate all the comments and support to those whi did good reviews of my work. thanks guys! 💗 and excuse me because I'm new in the app, and do not know how to respond personally to your comments, but someone asked me what were these photos made for. so I have to tell you that they were made as a book for the model portfolio, the photographer and also mine. maybe they will also appear in fashion blog. Here attached another photo (this time the necklace is of an octopus, I hope nobody will be offended by marine animals) 🐙

For those offended by the upside down cross or that have the nerve to compare it to a swastika...
"The upside down cross was actually a symbol of being lesser than Christ before it was adopted by the satanic or opposers of Christ. That's why St. Peter was crucified upside down and the pope's throne has an upside down cross on it. He didnt feel worthy enough to be crucified like jesus...sign of humiliation and unworthiness."

@Kalyn, actually, I am correct, and people do wear swastika. I have known several people in my life that have either worn swastikas or had them tattooed on them.

Julia, I think you did a beautiful job with the makeup on this shoot!
I think its just a an aesthetic choice the stylist made for the sake of fashion... There's always someone offended by something out there, you can't please everyone! =P

Awesome job Julia! It's hard to get blues to look that good! I would've asked the same question, I think this discussion is very interesting. That second picture is stunning!
