It is only a symbol and it is becoming so usual with "punk" or alternative outfits. It is just fashion. Do you think those symbols are offensive to anybody's beliefs?

I don't think it's offensive , but from a believers point of view... I don't even know much about that so really I can't say much. :)

I don't think it's offensive in anyway. Probably different if it was a nazi symbol or something.

There's not a single thing in this world that not a single person finds offensive. That's a beauty of us all being different, we all have our own tastes :)

I can see how some people could be offended but they should at least try to understand that art is meant to push boundaries. I'm personally not offended.

To me it is offensive, and I hate that fashion has tried to make the whole anti-Christian thing be seen as something that is cool and trendy and it's prevalence is on the rise, and it's definitely not "for no reason", there is definitely a reason why this is a trend but I'm not getting into that here. Anyway, that said, I would have done the job as a professional MUA even though I object to the symbolism. Personally I would crop it, but that's me.

I'm a Christian but clearly not a good one.. I didn't know upside down crosses were a bad thing, I find them cute.. with that being said, I don't expect everyone to believe what I do either so if a person wants to wear it, I can't exactly get upset. some Christians need learn not everything is about them personally or against them. just dislike whatever it is, keep your 2 cents & keep it moving.

I don't personally find it offensive at all. Fashion is fashion, and because fashion is an art of sort, people need to understand that boundaries are meant to be bent. I can understand why someone could be offended, but they should try to see both sides. Then again, those who don't find it offensive, should of course also try to see it through the eyes of someone who does find it offensive.

Upside down crosses are referred to judas, the betrayer, so in a Christian point of view I can understand, but for me as a punk Wiccan, I think they rock! I don't find them offensive

To be clear, by "offended", I only mean that I do not like it. I certainly do NOT expect everyone to believe what I do, nor do I believe that everything is about me or against me personally. Anyone can believe in what they want to believe in, I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion, I simply gave mine. Some people need to learn that the definition of offended does NOT mean that you are trying to convert anyone to your beliefs. Everyone has the right to state whether or not they approve of something, and does not need to "keep their 2 cents" about it and "keep it moving".

I had never thought about the Judas' thing! Good point! I thought it was only related to the fact of exorcism, vampires, and things like that! I had never unterstood what was the relation between that and the christian religion!

Haha @jazmynn made me lol. I'm a catholic and really do not see anything offensive in the slightest, fashion takes everyday things and uses them and interprets it in many ways, you will only find offence if you go looking for it. It's harmless, hardly an attack at Christianity. Personally not a fan of the "religious jewellery" trend but each to their own :)

@Todd S. that,
@Julia G. Judas was crucified on an upside down cross (anyways, that's what's in the bible, I've read it because my school made bible study mandatory, so we could learn respect, believer or not)

@, Kim B-good for you being an out-loud-and-proud Wiccan, it takes guts to be that! You are putting yourself on the line to be vilified by expressing your views, and I think that's why you "get it".
PS-who's that cute guy with you?

It doesn't offend me but I don't believe in anything to be honest...

I agree with Todd.

For me, it is offensive. I am a catholic, but not very religious. That kind of cross is blasphemous. For me, I perceive this picture as a lack of respect. That being said, I would also be shocked to see a Jew, a Muslim, or à Buddhist religious symbol desecrated like this. I know you didn't want to be disrespectful, but you have to be aware that it can be a sore point for some people. We already saw religious conflicts starting for less than an picture ;)
Jun 24, 2013
Cathy D.
Well, I feel shocked by this picture. But I don't feel any hostile feeling for people who wear the symbol.
Jun 24, 2013
Hannah R.
I'm a Christian & as the cross being a primary religious symbol for our faith I can understand people getting upset. Personally idgaf. People can wear whatever they want & shouldn't get any hate. They're not wearing it, why do they care?

I agree with Cathy D. and Todd S.

I can see where people find it offensive... It's about respect but I don't feel like people should get mad at you because as you said you didn't choose to wear the clothes or the accessories

@Todd S. that Todd, is my lovely boyfriend :) he's cute isn't he?
And thank you 😘

(Side question Julia, what was this picture for? I am in LOVE with the top! Don't know what I'd wear it for.. But if there's a will there's a way!) : )
