I have thick hair too but layers won't work on my hair or any of my families hair cause they have thick hair too. I would say cut it short but do what you feel is best.!.! (Btw the last puc is awesome!

If you want thinner feeling hair don't do layers.

You have a small face and thick hair I say cut them all the same length but not too short & get bangs.

& you can tell them to thinner your hair.

Layers do not allow your hair to grow properly so I suggest just cutting it shortet.

I personally have really thick wavy hair & I've noticed that every time it's cut short and/or Medium length it tends to stay "managable" for only a couple of days after leaving the salon (2-3 days *the most*) and usually then becomes all puffy/dry/& frizzy. Short/Medium haircuts (above the shoulders) I would recommend you only cut it that short (or shorter) if your hair is fairly thin and/or flat, dull, lifeless, needing root/ or volume. Why? Well, because hair (no matter how thick or thin) will become noticeably lighter in weight allowing you to easily add lots of volume, root, texture, & even style to your hair. Now, if you're the type of person who loves straight hair & won't leave the house without straightening your hair, cutting it short/medium length (above the shoulder or shorter) would be another great alternative. POINT TO BE MADE: If you're the type of person who normal everyday styles, straightens, curls, textures, adds oils, leave-in conditioners, & doesn't mind spending the extra time/money keeping their hair well maintained with weekly deep conditioning, monthly treatments, etc., or you're just the type of person who's really tired of your normal everyday look & want to spice things up I would recommend you cut it short/medium (above the shoulders or shorter). If you're kind of a lazy person (like me) who styles their hair every once in a while for special occasions & such, LIVE IT OUT GROW IT OUT! :D

Long hair (below the shoulders or longer) suits almost every women/teenage girl/even little girls. Long hair is also another great length for creating styles such as braids, fishtails, etc. Long flat and/or curly/wavy hair can be made into beachy waves/loose waves, tight curls, or loose curls fairly easy. Now, if you're main concern is just the thickness it being "too" thick or "hard" to manage then ask for Medium layers going throughout your entire hair starting from the shoulders, down. Doing so will allow your hair to be bouncy giving it a fuller look without the added weight/thickness leaving it lighter, thinner, & easier to manage. If you naturally have curly/wavy hair this haircut will bring out your curls/waves A LOT more with little to no maintenance needed. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Keep in mind that if you are the type of person who loves putting your hair in braids/fishtails & such, LAYERS WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST ENEMY/NIGHTMARE. Why? Because the braids/fishtails, etc. you use to be able to do to your hair so "perfectly" before when your hair was all even will look horrible in a braid/fishtail, etc. unless you like the "messy" look.

I hope this helped you & everyone who read this post. I come from a family of highly skilled hair specialists and hair stylists. I am 17 & already have my license to cut & style hair. I've worked in many high ends of hair salons like John Freida. I cut & style my own hair to perfection. I currently work at Ulta. I'm new to Beautylish & would like to help a lot of other people with hair questions of every topic. Like color, style, length, etc. I'm not familiar with this app yet. If anybody could help me find out a way where I can have a question box on my profile or something like that were people can freely or anonymously ask me questions regarding anything and everything HAIR please help me I would love to help people with advice/tips on everything HAIR.

Thanks,
xoxo.
