I use clean and clear' s acne pads they minimize shine and reduce pore size too. they are super afforablr and work like a charm :)

You could try proactive spot treatment. It works for me.

Steps
1. Wash your hands
2. Wash your face
3. Apply a paste of baking soda and water
-or-
Apply a dab of honey

Baking soda will dry out the pimple
But honey will kill the bacteria- I personally prefer the honey

***for a quick fix- crush an aspirin and add a drop or two of water and apply. Asprin will calm down raging and red pimples
