You can always just sell them on eBay, me personally I'm a nude kind of girl I love all the light eyeshadows especially because I'm fair but instead of starting off fancy go to urban outfitters and get a huge makeup pallet that has both urban decays pallets in it plus more.

I heard that for darker skin tones, naked 1 is best... And for lighter skin tones, naked 2 is best. I personally don't know much about it.

Aren't both naked palettes mostly neutrals? Are you trying to get away from neurals?

I just bought naked 1 yesterday... I chose it over the second one because of the color gunmetal... The palettes are very similar but gunmetal was the big difference and its beautiful. I'm fair skinned green eyes and its working on me great so far :)

Naked 1 - best for warm tones
Naked 2 - best for cool tones
Naked Basics - works great with both.
"but I always end up using neutral colors" makes it sound like you want to try to get away from neutrals some, start getting colors in? If you want an Urban decay palette they have several great ones. My favorite is the Fun Palette (matte colors), if you like glitter the Ammo palette is pretty good. But like I said, they have a bunch of great ones, and you should get on their site and check them out. If you aren't set on UD there are several brands out there with some good colorful palettes for cheaper since you aren't use to colors and if you don't like them you don't waste so much money.
Also, if you already have a lot of neutral shades but just really want a Naked palette maybe go with Basics? I feel like a lot of people tend to look over this one.

I have both and LOVE them. If you end up getting one, you won't be disappointed by either choice. I would recommend the 2 over the 1 though. The basics in my opinion is more to add to other colors. I didn't think it looked that great by themselves.. It seemed kinda dull alone.
