Just go to the best school you can. I want to go to Paul Mitchell I think...I haven't decided yet. Learn from the best and try to be the best you can. Celebrity Cosmotologist don't apply to be "Celebrity Cosmotologist" they just got recognized by big names.

Honestly a school with an amazing rep means nothing... ik a girl who does some celebs hair and a lady who does eva menda (I don't know if I spelled her mame right the chick from love and hip hop) hair. Honestly the key to great success is being creative and versatile, promote and take up any opportunity you can. Being respectful amd having a great personality and an open mind will take you far! volunteer for things do what you can to get discovered!

Well a school with an amazing reputation has one for a reason. My school does lots of networking and events to help their students get their name out their and gain employment/apprenticeships. Not saying that a lesser known school is not as good but its great to learn those skills when you are new to the beauty industry. Ultimately, the things that will help you get to where you want to be is motivation, the desire to succeed and talent. Good luck, Natalie! :)

I went to Paul Mitchel :) I think that if you want to get big, high end gigs then you should of course, practice, practice, practice! And try and educate yourself about makeup as much as possible! Get good at makeup :) also, being a people person doesn't hurt. Also, offer to do people's makeup for free and get your name out there. For example, I have friends who are models and some who are photographers. We all get together and do things for free. The model models for free, the photographer takes photos for free and I do the makeup for free. In the end, we had a good time and we all got pics for our portfolios. And they from doing just one of those gigs, I got like 7 paying gigs from being referred by my friends and also by showing my pics. :) just an idea :)
