Ya elf and Maybelline have great eyeshadows! I'm 12 (almost 13) and if I do wear eyeshadow, that's what I wear!

My first eyeshadow palettes were from maybelline! They have palettes that are catered to your eye color which always look good, and they're labeled so you know what's for the crease, lid, highlight and everything :)

Almay also makes shadows specific to your eye color. Really good to start out with!

Lol girl I would go with a nude shimmer color bc it goes good with everything since you can only wear one right now. Elf should have some cheap ones for $1 :)

I wore eyeshadow at 13...and yes sometimes it looked bad. But it wasn't because I was too young it was because I didn't know how to apply it. The only reason young girls look ridiculous is (not saying all young girls do, but we've all seen that one girl with makeup that looks like she was playing with her moms beauty products) is because they don't know how to apply it correctly! Google some tutorials and practice your looks before you wear them would be my advice.
Oh and btw I like my maybelline shadows. And sorry for the rant, but it bothers me when people put limits on what makeup certain people 'can and cannot wear'.
Good luck with the shadows!

You should tell your mom to get you a eyeshadow pallet from bh cosmetics. Tell her you'll do extra chores. Trust me it's all the eyeshadow you'll need to practice with also elf has a big pallets that they sell at target for $15 even better no shipping and you can buy it yourself. ;)

I think it is my job as a mom to help my daughter (Or son, I don't judge) apply makeup properly and in an age appropriate manner. Oftentimes when a girl looks like she is playing in her mom's makeup box, it's because her parents have forbidden cosmetics period and the girls are sneaking around. I am also a fan of geoGirl because that line focuses on a clean natural yet sophisticated age appropriate look.
