Where to pass out business cards and promoting business.

I just joined a salon I have no clientele and paying booth rent. I've been promoting my work everyday for the last week on all my social networks. I have business cards but no clue where to pass them out. I just don't wanna pass them out and somebody throw it away or take it and not look at it.

It's always hard when we start. I would suggest start by applying sample looks or give them to the people that go there to that salon
