It's always best to use the extra virgin child pressed. When you open it, it should face a very fresh coconut Snell and in the solid form it should be a snow white color no yellow at all. that can indicate that the coconut flesh sat and fermented a bit before they extracted the oils and that's not good. Spectrumus another brand I don't particularly like.

Cold pressed not child pressed...sometimes small children have to suffer for our beauty.

And what if I told you I have coconut that falls in my backyard. what would you call those organic?

Jun 21, 2013

Shoma M.

Btw I live in a tropical country hence the abundance of coconuts.

Jay it won't hurt you but it doesn't have the benefits. All the good properties are gone from the fermentation and the heat they use. I almost guarantee that one doesn't have a fresh coconut cream smell and there is probably a yellow tinge. I just made a post today about how using organic extra virgin coconut oil on my skin everyday has reduced the KP scales on my skin by 90% atleast. The organic extra virgin is more expensive, but it's worth it because it makes all the difference. This is my brand.

There is ALOT if info on it online if you are unsure and want to do some research. That's always your best bet.

Tara I saw your post on this earlier. I'm going to try this on my KP as well. I've been using Amlactin lotion on it. it does help , hoping with this there will be even more results.

Shoma it isn't so much about the growing of the coconut as the process they use to extract the oil. I live in a tropical place too, it's not so easy getting the oil out yourself.

I hope so too Danny! Let me know if it helps you.

I'm so glad you posted this question Danny. I had no idea. I did a lot of research here on Beautylish and on Pinterest as well. The one I got was attached to an article that I found on Pinterest called 100 ways to use coconut oil. So I thought I had the right one. I was very disappointed when I opened it and it didn't smell like fresh coconut like I expected. Thank you Tara for sharing you're expertise! I will keep my eyes peeled for that brand. I've been using it on my crowsfeet around my eyes the last couple of days it has helped diminish the fine lines. So I'll continue to use it until I can find the other brand. I love this app...you guys are awesome, thanks for your help!

I use the same one has Jay. My hair gets really shiny and awesome still. I guess I'll have to try the good stuff next time round. For now mine will have to do. I did get some growth using the one I have though.

Awww same here Tara. :) Good to know Victoria...it works good as a massage oil too, just a tiny bit was needed. So many uses can't wait to get the good smelling one.

Me too. I hope I don't get nauseous from the smell... Sensitive to smells, curse of my life

Victoria I like to either add it to my coffee it stir it in my rice with a bit if sweetener. It's easier to take it orally that way.
