Okay so about six years ago I got my hair cut into layers.. and it still hasn't grown back evenly. I'm trying to grown it really long.. should I go back to the salon and get my layers refined or just let the shorter pieces grow itself? I really want my hair to grow and it's just now starting to get longer.

Since it's been a long time since I had a cut..trimming your hair at this point could help...trimming he hair ensures that the ends don't get damaged or tangled up n it can save you from a lot of damaged hair...

Yeah...tryna grow my hair too... I have layer with step as my haircut! I think the best is if we possibly let it grow for some time before redefining the hairs.

You could consult with a Dr n see if you could take biotin which would speed up the growing process.but in my case I gained weight after takin biotin but it surely did help..

Well, I've been putting a deep treatment on it and its repairing it really good. and I haven't been cutting it.. so it's been growing. I don't believe in trimming hair for it to grow.

If you have split ends your hair won't grow out. even though it may sound strange it's true that trimming your hair frequently makes hair grow faster.

Well the treatment I put in gets rid of my split ends.

Trim it, biotin vitamins, and if you want it all the same length, every time you want it trimmed tell them closer to your shortest layer. If you want to keep your layers, then continue to have her layer your hair, but softly and only trim up the layers you have.

Hair grows on average at a half inch per month. That's average! B vitamins, especially biotin, can really help. Also use coconut oil to keep it healthy. I got shorter layers cut into my hair and my longest length is to the small of my back. One thing to remember when your hair is all the same length is that it will be far heavier. If you wear curls, know that the curls sitting on top of the under curls will make them go flat faster. It really depends on your preference and hair type. Like I said, my hair is super long but if it was all one length, I'd get bored and chop it off or end up putting layers in it anyways. Good Luck on whichever you choose.
