Webcam is usually crappy quality. You don't want to do tutorials on your webcam. At least use a digital camera that has decent quality. My digital camera doesn't film in HD at all, but it's way better than my webcam.
I just use Windows Movie Maker for closed captioning. It works just fine.

Like Rikki said above, Camera quality is always better than webcam when it relates to makeup tutorial. Now depending whether you have a MAC or PC they both come with editing programs. MAC has imovie while PC comes with windows movie maker. Make sure that your camera video file is compatible with windows movie maker. My nikon l120 records HD and the file is mpeg and my windows movie maker doest accept it so I can't make videos. :/ but it works on windows live movie maker. Its a trial error process aswell as practice time. I hope I helped a bit!:)

Oh, and if you need a video converter. Any Video Converter (that's the actual title) works. I use it all the time.

Well, on WMM it's under Edit... Titles and Credits. And then it gives options. If you Google your program, or go under the Help section on the program, it'll tell you how to do certain things.
