Steam, and moisturize first. :)
As for tips, just follow the natural shape, try not to go too crazy with the plucking.

A few random mixed tips:
pluck before bed so the redness has gone for the morning
it's best to pluck after having a shower or wash as it hurts less
don't over pluck them just do noticeably stray hairs
follow a natural arch of your brows don't create a massive arch because it may look very fake
don't pluck away at the inside of the brows this could create gaps in the thickest parts
oh and you can always numb the eyebrow area with ice before plucking
hope this helps(:

My eyebrows are golden/blond so it's hard for me to see to pluck them,I don't know if that's that's a problem for you? But I usually swipe mascara over the sections I'm plucking so I can see the hairs.

I personally don't like to use the method on the picture Lynzie showed you because if you have a wide set nose you could end up with half an eyebrow each side or if you have a small set nose you could end up with a monobrow the way that method in the picture is showing you how to pluck them

I use a method similar to the one described but not exactly. This video will help explain! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqi0o1WlmXg
When I do mine, I typically use a eyebrow razor to clean the area above the brows and in between. I always keep the same basic shape, sharper arch and a straighter edge to begin the brow. I pluck and last I use a spoolie and a pair of small, sharp scissors and push the hair up with the spoolie, then trim whichever hairs are long and sticking out. I personally don't experience any trouble with redness/puffing or anything like that, but if it happens, aloe is great for that!
