What are the products you guys use to keep bacne at bay? I used Neutrogena's body wash for years and it doesn't seem to work for me anymore. :( Preferably drug store finds! Thanks ladies xoxo

Have you tried using a natural remedy? Products like Neutrogena's body wash may contain chemicals that are too harsh for your body which in turn does nothing for your bacne. Try using an Apple Cider Vinegar wash. It's a great natural cleanser. (Let me know if you want the direct link to it.) ACV smells so you'll have to dilute it with water, but you should notice a difference after a couple of washes.

Proactiv's deep cleansing wash is made for the body, and that works really well. There's also sprays you can use, such as the Murad clarifying acne body spray, and they also have a body wash. I'll post the links. http://www.amazon.com/Proactiv-Solution-Deep-Cleansing-Wash/dp/B001JKYD4Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1332196267&sr=1-1 (deep cleansing wash) http://www.murad.com/treatments/clarifying-body-spray.jsp (clarifying body spray) http://www.murad.com/cleansers/acne-body-wash.jsp (murad body wash)
There you go!!! :D Good luck!

Oh wait, you said drug store... Hmm... I've no clue. Maybe try a face scrub, and just use that on your back. The main thing you're looking for is Salicylic Acid, and that'll help. Sorry I couldn't be of more help in the drugstore realm...

I'd recommend giving Cetaphil a try. After going through a million other brands, both high-end beauty counter products and drugstore items, it's the only thing that has had a real affect. Also helped to deal with my boyfriend's sensitive skin. It's gentle and you can even use it on your face (I do!). Also, Apple cider vinegar can be drying (it's a weak acid, after all), so be careful how concentrated it is. Maybe just dip a Q-Tip in and apply it on the affected spots.

Amanda- I looked for the Proactiv body wash, but the only way I could find it was purchasing the kit, and I'm not sure I trust Amazon and Ebay. :(
Bee- I would love more information on natural remedies, thank you!
Sarah- Does Cetaphil make a body wash, by any chance? Or do I have to buy the face one?

Why don't you trust amazon or ebay? (well, I can understand not trusting ebay, but amazon will never fail you) And that body wash is great. I mean, you know, just because it's not for the body doesn't mean you can't use it so. If it works it works. But you know, whatever.

Britt-No Problem! As Sarah said, ACV is a vinegar and is acidic with an acidity level of 5% so I recommend using a 50/50 dilution: 1/2 water 1/2 ACV and apply to a cotton pad. Then dab the cotton pad on your spots and you should see a difference.

I know you can use face products on your body, but I wasn't sure if Cetaphil made something specifically for your body or not. I haven't ordered many things from Amazon, but I'll have to give it a go! Thanks for the wonderful advice! I've heard so many good things about the Proactiv wash. Amanda, do you use the bar or the liquid? As I have seen both online.
Mar 20, 2012
Britt A.
Bee- Thanks so much! I'll have to give that a go. About how many times a day do you recommend using ACV on your spots?

Aw, haha. I use the liquid. Which isn't really a liquid. It's very creamy, and has a LOT of exfoliating grains in it. So I guess you have to be wary if you have sensitive skin. And no, I don't believe Cetaphil makes body wash. But as far as the proactiv goes bar or liquid form, I think it's just preference. They're the same formulation. :P (And just so you know, I don't leave the ACV on when I do it. Well, when I did it. Don't need to anymore... But it is really sticky, and I leave it on for like, thirty minutes or so, then shower it off. It makes your skin really tight and weird feeling, if you leave it on... lol Just thought I'd let you know.)

Britt, the ACV leaves a weird feeling because it dries out your skin, so make sure you have a moisturizer ready :) The amount of time you leave it on depends on your skin type. My skin isn't that sensitive, but my husband's skin is, so he takes it off after 15 minutes. Make sure it's diluted so you don't burn your skin. I would use it once a day before you shower because it does smell funny :P

PanOxyl 10% BP is strong stuff and will DEF. help, but use it sparingly, as it can dry out your skin. You can find this in your local drug store's face wash aisle.

Oh, and purchase a Salux Japanese body towel to use in the shower. It seems rough at first, but once you break it in, it does WONDERS for your skin... and it's about $5. =D
