Hey there! I was wondering if I would be able to use a BB or a CC cream (or both) instead of using foundation? My face is fairly clear, and I always have trouble finding a shade of foundation to match my skin tone. Would the creams essentially create the same effect as foundation?

It all depends on the product! :) BB creams are meant to let the skin breathe a little more than a foundation, being as it has less coverage, you can always mix two colors of foundation together to match your tone.

If your skin is relatively good then yes give bb cream a try for sure! Cc cream has more coverage so it's up to you.

What is BB and CC cream? I'm seeing this term everywhere on Beautylish... I've never heard the term before! Can someone tell me?

A BB cream is along the lines of like a tinted moisturizer just there to really even out the skin tone and to mask very minor blemishes, and a CC cream I'm not familiar with but ill have to do my research!! :)

Does BB mean something? Like do the letters stand for words?

I have oily skin and found that a CC cream really didn't work for me. I was very oily an hour after applying. I really don't see the difference between CC and BB creams and a tinted moisturizer.

I love l'oreal CC cream. Applies as a foundation and corrects skin tone. I usually just buff ELF booster, sets great.

American BB creams are tinted moisturizers. That's it. They're dreadful. Asian BB creams are a whole different animal. They're thicker, offer more coverage and skin benefits, and IMO are more easily substituted for foundation.

If you have nice skin, you can try Loreal's Magic BB Cream. It's very light and has a fairly matte finish—better finish than Maybelline and Garnier. I LOVE Almay's CC cream.
