I think you need to know that if you felt happy before when you were being urself it shouldn't matter what any idiot thinks. When I see beautiful people with makeup I see how gorgeous and confident they are. I want to be confident like them. Anyone who says your ugly is a bully and an idiot and they are so wrong, they are just jealous. Be strong.

I have never had anyone make a negative comment about my make up, but I goofy jokes about how pale I am and before the bang boom...some lame Cindy Brady jokes..ha! You should not ever gauge your self-worth based on the opinions of others. Don't ever ever give another person the power to define you. If you feel unsure of your application, hit up youtube or join the Ipsy community to take advantage of tutorials so you can try out new looks or work on an area like blending. Make it about YOU..not them..and have fun with it. :)

Rock whatever make up makes you feel confident! I get asked at work why I'm always so done up at 5am (cat eye and all) and I just tell people that I enjoy it and if they don't like it they do not have to look at me!
If you enjoy wearing "more" makeup than others around you, go for it, you aren't hurting anyone its your face! Be proud and flaunt your pretty looks!

Manuela I know how you feel. My family LOVES to bash on my makeup ALL the time. My stepdad tells me its a Tammy Faye Baker gone wrong, my mom tells me it just doesn't look right with my face, and my sister just tag teams with my mom. When they do this, I stick my tongue out at them; then snap a pic and post it on here! I used to care because they are family, but they don't need to be like that to me!

I think you should wear whatever you want, BUT I think it's also important to figure out what makeup means to you. For you, do you apply makeup in order to enhance your features? If you do, then I think it's important to take his opinion into consideration. If the makeup doesn't look good on you, you're probably wasting your time. I went to look at your pictures, and while I don't think you wear too much makeup at all, I don't think the lipstick works wonders on you. A more warmer color would be much better in my opinion. You're young, you have so much time to figure out your style and what you want. Don't worry about it :)

Well, that's basically the same thing. I mean, if you like the lipstick, you can wear it, but you can also make it more wearable! As a black girl too, I understand how hard it may be to find lipstick that works for your complexion, but I found that putting on a nudish brown color can help make the lipstick more fitting. I don't think anyone should bash anyone for their makeup so harshly, but I always try to take into consideration the collective criticism I receive because in the end, it does make me better at makeup. I'm not trying to be mean and discourage you from wearing what you want, because you can, I'm just trying to add some perspective.
