I've heard that applying peppermint oil (mixed with another type of oil of course) to your hair and scalp helps stimulate new hair growth on your scalp as well as increases the rate of hair growth. Anyone know anything about this or have personal experience with using this oil?

Oil is incredibly beneficial for your scalp as well as hair...a few oils that will help it grow are Sweet almond oil, coconut oil and olive oil. Also to keep it healthy you could apply baby oil on days that you're not deep conditioning :) (check out Nidmajid on youtube if you get a chance:))

Be careful in mixing because too much peppermint oil can actually burn the scalp.

I've never used peppermint oil but Nidah is right. Oils are very good for your scalp & hair. When I deep condition my hair, I usually mix in my sweet almond oil, coconut oil, argan oil, grapeseed oil & castor oil.

Tiyah,
What proportions do you use or does it matter?

It doesn't matter. I usually eyeball it. Most of my oils are in those little travel size containers so if you wanted to measure by that I typically use half of a cap size. I usually put in more of castor oil than of my oils.

I like peppermint oil for my hair. I put in about 10 drops worth in a hair coloring bottle filled with grape seed oil. I use it to seal in my moisturizer and massage my scalp daily with it. But PLEASE, like Shelley said, be careful when mixing it. I suggest looking at an aromatherapy book for dilutions. Less is always more in my opinion when it comes to a potent essential oil.

Thanks so much for the feedback y'all :) & yessss, I only put 8 drops into two tablespoons of almond oil. I feel like that should be fine! Just waiting to see some results now *sigh*
