I currently have black hair, i've dyed it multiple times (red, blonde, brown) i was thinking of dip dying my tops, a burgundy, but very slightly. Instead of going through the process of bleaching, could i just put the red on it, since i want it ever so slightly red?

Nope that's not really going to work. You could just lightly bleach it or even apply sun lightning spray to the tips then dye it. When I dip dyed mine I used a tooth brush to apply the dye to the ends

Thanks! I'll probably just lightly dye it :)
