What is your skin type because that could be part of the reason why, also I think you should try skipping the power and see if that works any better

I really recomend milk of magnesia as a primer... I've had the same problem, when I used to put on makeup it would look so great and then like 2 hours later I just looked horrible. Try putting milk of magnesia before your foundation, then after you apply your foundation set it with powder (Maybelline dream matte powder is great) and always carry around with you oil blotting sheets. It really works for me, try it!
Good Luck<3!

Since you have a normal and quite a clear skin, why not try using a foundation that is sheer but buildable instead of MAC studio fix fluid foundation. Because MAC foundations are very heavy duty and they cake a little easily. Try Makeup Forever HD foundation or Bobbi Brown Sheer foundation.
Besides, maybe you could try to use powder just o. your T zone instead of on whole face. :)

I agree with Tan B. I have normal/combination, however I am prone to breakouts. What I find to be great for my skin is CoverFx primer. It's got salicylic acid to help prevent breakouts. Also, my moisturizer is Eucerine, it's great for my skin in the winter. I put on a heavy foundation to conceal my redness but I put coverFx powder just in my T-Zone area and do not what-so-ever experience cakiness. And I will be the first to say I wear a lot...

Actually tan b. is right, the makeup forever foundation is awesome, its a lighter coverage but they do have the duo mat powder and the pro finish powder so you can set it with those or even their finishing powder. also coverage definitly depends on the brush you use, I like full coverage and with that foundation I'll use the sephora modeling foundation brush because its tight and it gives me the medium coverage and then set it with the pro finish powder and it gives me the fuller coverage, I do have to touch up throughout the day but it doesn't leave my combo skin looking cakey. plus their primer although is lotion based, is awesome for all skin types :)
