I have combination skin, which features an oily t-zone. When ever I do my make up base it looks good for a while but a couple of hours and the makeup is sliding (the oil breaking through) on particularly my nose and chin :'(
has anyone got any tips to prevent this?
I have tried using various primers and foundations + setting powders and sprays but it seems to always happen. I have a big party to go to so need to find a solution... Thanks

I have the same issue. Aside from the steps you are already taking try this tip from Wayne Goss. After applying your moisturizer or primer, peel apart a piece of tissue or kleenex and gently press it against your face in your oily zones. This will absorb the excess oils so. Do this after applying your foundation as well. This will help mattify (?) your foundation. Also try Urban Decay Deslick line of setting sprays and powders. Hope this helps!

There were some really good suggestions... I'm going to try the blotting (between primer etc) and blotting paper to see if it makes a difference

Do you actually need foundation on that part of your face? foundation is to only be used on areas of discoloration (redness mostly). if you're skin is actually clear and just oily there I would skip the foundation in that area altogether. are you using a toner?

I use a cleanser/toner at the moment (think it's peppermint and tea tree)... and I tend to like the coverage foundation gives as I have a fairly uneven skin tone

Try spritzing your toner on your face whenever you start feeling muddy/cakey. and maybe try a mineral foundation? I have oily skin and I use bare essentials pressed foundation and finish of my look with their mineral veil. they help to absorb excess oil and help keep the skin looking matte.

Try a translucid powder. If that doesn't work, try a setting spray and primer.

Use a primer ( benefit 16hr primer), powder (rimmel stay matte) and a setting spray ( urban decay all nighter)
