I am 29 years old with combo skin and I wanted to start preventing wrinkles. I started to use Roc deep wrinkle max night cream and the serum duo pack, on my third night using it I got really bad redness on my cheeks and had super dry skin the next day, little bumps on forehead, and on and off itchyness. This is my very first time using a skincare product with retinol. Has anyone ever experienced this before? dont know if I used to much or my skin just got a bad allergic reaction to it. I want to know if you guys can give me some advice for beginners trying to use retinol products. I have stopped using the ROC product so I can get my skin back to normal and right now its almost back to normal.

With retinol you should use it every other day, or every third day, until your skin gets used to it. Three days in a row probably just was too much all at once. Let your skin calm back down, then try reincorporating the product back in gradually. If that doesn't work, I know Roc just came out with one that is supposed to be more gentle and cause less irritation. Sorry, I don't remember the name. You could also try one of the neutrogena retinol products too of the Roc doesn't work out.
