I don't use foundation on a regular basis, but I've heard a lot of great things about both. I just want one that is easy to sheer out with a damp sponge or layer on without looking cakey. Which one is better and why?

It really depends on your skin type. L'oreal true match is better for dryer skin, while covergirl's is better for more oily skin. I have oily-combination and use them both often, but I've started using covergirl more often because it's much hotter now and it won't melt off of my face like L'oreal's will lol

I prefer cover girl, true match turned blotchy after a while on me and melted off in the heat. 3 in 1 lasts all day for me and I had no issue matching it to my skin!

I have oily combination skin as well.

Well Katarina, I'd suggest covergirl if you live in a hotter climate :)
It was a bit difficult to match to my skin..but then again that happens all of the time for me >_<

I just made the switch a few days ago from true match and I love love love cover girl's 3in1 outlast. it is perfect for the heat. I think loreal is more for the winter and cover girl for the summer as it's better for oil and won't wear off as quickly.

Loreal is great for the fall/winter season. It's more of a satin finish compared to Covergirl. Covergirl is REALLY matte. I like this in the summer. The oils end seeping through a bit so it doesn't leave dry patches on my skin (I have dry skin). Both are really great. True match was the first foundation I ever used.

I prefer true match, it is hard to find my shade in 3 in 1. But that being said. I prefer covergirls clean foundation over loreal.
