@Laura, you have had that for five years? Most people I know with inner lip tats theirs is either really faded or nearly gone by that amount of time. I have always heard they don't stay for some reason.
I have several tattoos and have way more to add, my body will be covered, one giant work of art. Definitely make sure it is what you want, and make sure you get it done in by a professional, not just in someone's kitchen. Make sure they are a good artist, I can not stress this enough, too many people get their work done by shitty artist (some obviously bad, some only bad to a trained eye/knowledgeable person), avoid pushy artists. Also, make sure to tip your artists, sadly many people neglect to do so. Ahh, so much stuff people should know yet don't, virgins and non, and I could inform. Any questions, message me, from coverups, to removal, to size/shape/positioning, etc.

@Jen B, just because you go to a reputable place does NOT mean that it will look good and last a long time, nowhere near really. It all depends on the individual artist itself. Trust me. There are several not so good artists at reputable places. Most shops are by rent, and even ones that aren't it doesn't mean the artist is actually good, or that they know what they are doing (there is so much more to it than just going over it, they might be good at that but not know placement, aging, and/or sizing).

I got my first tattoo in my 50's. I now have 6. The most important thing is to ho to a reputable, well recommended artist, never a stranger. Be sure they use disposable needles, and follow all of the health codes to the letter. Don't get a tattoo thinking you can remove it later. Make sure they are in places you can cover or employment could be a problem. Hope this helps.
