When I use new eye makeup after some hours when I remove it, I notice my eye lids get swollen a bit, I have had some eyeshadows for more than a year now and now I find after I put on some I get a headache is this normal?

maybe you are allergic... my mom is allergic to eyeshadows and never wears them, but other eye make up doesnt tend to bother her. her eyes would get puffy & a little red when she would put eyeshadow on. but yeah, i definitely do not think it is normal to get headaches & swollen eyes from makeup. talk to your doctor or dermotologist about it. goodluck :)

Probably an allergie. Check out whats in the product and then get tested for allergies. Your eyes could be simply irritated by the product or maybe the amout has change. If your using a brush it could be dirty and time to get a new one. Listen to Autum and go to your Derm or doc, they are the professionals.

Hey Veronica. It certainly could be an allergy to the eyeshadow.
What are you using to remove the eyeshadow/eye makeup? Depending on what i use to remove my eye makeup, my eyes can get red and sore. If you're using just a normal face wipe (not specifically used for removing eye makeup) the chemicals/soap in the wipe can be too strong for the delicate eye area. Have yourself checked out at your GP, take a list of all the products you tend to use on your eyes including any makeup removers/wipes.
Hope it sorts itself out. :) xx

Also, you said you've had some of the eyeshadows for over a year now. It's not too often that eye shadows/powder makeups actually go out of date, but if you've had them over a year and the product's best before date is after 6 months, this could be another reason why your eyes are taking a turn to the eyeshadow. xx

you're allergic, or the eyeshadows have gone off as you've had them for over a year. swelling is usually caused by allergies. try and read the ingriediants on the make-up to see whether they all have a similar chemical in them. if so, you're allergic. if not, they’ve gone off. You can also talk to a doctor and see whether you are allergic: the doctor will probably be able to test it for you
