I'm pretty good at applying it over all, but the tail is never even on both sides, like when doing a cat eye look.

Practice practice practice! :) Try using a gel liner, the brush will give you more precision and control!

It can help to draw out where you want to put it with a lighter colour, even a lightt eyeshadow, first. That way, if you mess up, it's easier to correct. When you're happy with the shape, trace over it with your liquid.

That's a good idea Emily, it would help if I had a guide.

Velen is absolutely correct! *hi Velen :))* it's definitely helpful to have a steady hand when doing something so precise! I even find myself holding my breath when I'm doing it but without even realizing haha ( Not recommended to hold your breath for too long hehe). On a more serious note, I have two other useful tips you might like to try. First, be sure to follow the natural lash line of your lower lash line. Try to create sort of a "stencil" or foundation to your wing. Aka create the outline shape and work slowly doing each side bit by bit to ensure evenness. And one thing I always do when I make little mistakes is this: with a very fine liner brush, clean up your mistakes. Dip the brush in a little oil free makeup remover. This is a better alternative to using a q-tip which can easily remove some of your work which you want to keep! Best of luck doll :)

You could try putting tape In the outer part of your eye and then the tape would get the extra eyeliner and that would make it straight too :)

I saw a video on here that said to use the little mini post its as a guide just stick them on the ends on your eyes where you want to line to go on both sides then look in the mirror to see if its even then draw the line - I haven't tried it myself but it sounds legit :)

Do little on each eye, switching between eyes, little by little. You're more likely to have the same lines when you alternate that way.

Gossmakeupartist on YouTube gives THE BEST demonstration on doing a winged liner. I suffered from the same problem until I watched his technique. And it's so easy!

A) follow the lower lash line... Basically start from the corner and do your wing at the exact same angle as your lower lash line and B) it helps if you look from different angles as you create the flicks... Do a little bit, then look in the mirror straight on, from beneath and then from the top. Do a bit more and carry on checking from different angles. I find that looking from beneath especially helps. It seems to exaggerate any differing angles
