With a pressed powder always choose a shade at least a shade or 2 lighter than your foundation/natural skin colour because it will oxidize with your natural skin oils which causes it to turn a shade or 2 darker.

Also I can't really tell by your picture but it looks like you have a bit darker skin? Sometimes with darker skin if you are using a translucent powder it can make your face appear darker in the light.

It could be the formula. I've had bad results with all.those shades geared fads blk/ethnic woman. but I'm a strange match in general.
rule of thumb with makeup is anything that has spf will slightly darken once it dries/sets. its prob not your shade to begin with and then it dried, plus you went into better lighting n could see.
usually those shades are way more red than anyone I know.
when I was freelancing I had a lot of African America clients but I did a lot of mixing to get their shade. I'd suggest a bb cream or tinted moisturizer if you have a hard time finding your match because those usually adjust a bit. go a tad lighter, never go darker.. n watch out for talc.. hope this helps..

I generally use liquid foundation, but go somewhere and get color matched but go outside in the sunlight and look at yourself BEFORE you buy. I've had a lot of foundations look right on me in the store but when I got home it was a no no. So try taking a trip to Ulta as they have a good return policy and a lot of brands.
