My hair is a bright red. But I still have black streaks in my hair from when it was black. My friend said the next time I go to redye my roots to just use the hicolor hi light on black streaks and roots or rebleach those places. I really don't want to that since bleach doesn't work in my hair. Ugh.

Hicolor hilights should work on them! it might take two processes though but it'll work. that stuff is intense.

Bleach works on everyone's hair. You've probably been using one of those bleach kits from walmart that do next to nothing and make your hair stink forever.
But any way you look at it, you have bleach it. Hi-lift color only lifts natural color. Tint doesn't lift tint. Only bleach does.
