Mederma is pretty expensive, and I don't want to buy it if it's not going to help.

It is very good for old scars but it takes about 6 months to work. An alternative I found is actually coconut oil. I suffered from dermatitis for years and I have small scars all over my body. I've been applying coconut oil all over my body every morning and night since april and I've already seen a dramatic improvement.

Yeah I never thought it was for scars, I started using it as a moisturizer but it works great. No problem.

You can ask a skin doctor to do a chemical peel on old scars to get rid of it. you can see the results within a week.

I used Mederma for the somewhat large scars on my face and now they are barely visible. It did take a while for it to work though.

It doesn't completely get rid of very deep scars like ones that had to have stitches but it fades them a LOT.
I have a scar next to my eye from a car accident I was in, in October. It had to have 8 stitches and at first when it became a scar I felt so horrible about it. It was all I saw when I looked at my face because it was kind of dark and redish and looked awful. I started using Mederma on it about a month after the accident and used it for several months.
After using it for a couple weeks I already noticed a big difference and when I stopped using it I felt the scar was much smaller, lighter in color, and no where near as deep.
I still have some left and I used it like everyday for like 4 months. I might start using it again just to see if it does anything else. But I feel so much better about it. Sometimes I forget it's there. If you have a scar that bothers you a lot, definitely give it a try because it's worth it.

Yeah it does take a while and I hate when people say it doesn't work, but they haven't used it right. Follow the instructions on the tube, you have to apply it on your skin at least 4 times a day, everyday for at least 6 months. Everyone's scars are different. There is no magical time when it will work. It will work different on scars from surgery or scars from skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis. Kiki, eczme is a skin condition that doesn't really go away fully so it therefore would take a cream like that a lot longer to work because the scars are constantly being re-irritated.

Suffered from childhood acne and was left with a lot of deep scars on my face. After about 2 weeks of using dermalmd scar treatment serum (occasionally 2x a day) my scars are pretty much gone! Tried this before attempting laser surgery and I'm so happy I did!
