First off, love that pic lol. But I've been there with the awkward hair stage (shaved half my head once).. You're probably going to have to style it in different ways.. Maybe color it..? Or try different hair cuts/trims like a bob or a/v-line during the growth process.

Went through the same thing! Sucks, but it's worth it in the end. I bought loads of cute hair accessories; flowers, head scarves, slides.. Just got to go for a 'messy' look and accessorise!
