Yeah, if it's dried out there can be all kinds of bacteria in it. Throw it out and get a new one.

I agree with everyone else, get a new one. however if you desperately need some and can't run to the store I heard you can run hot water over it for a while and it should be fine. but there's a down side to this... after a couple of minutes it gets dryer than it was before.
I have never tryed this before but I heard it works!
