So lately, I've been wearing a lot of lipstick. Pretty much everyday I would wear a different color because it's so fun for spring/summer! However, I've been realizing that my lips are getting more and more pale without lipstick lately. They use to be super pigmented and full, but now they're not as pigmented. Does putting on lipstick have anything to do with it?
I usually put on a lip balm, lip liner, and then the lipstick.

I'm pretty sure it does, but I don't know for sure or why for that matter!! But the same thing has happened to me.. I started wearing red lipstick daily for about a year now.. And have definitely. noticed a change in my lips color..

I know that for your natural skin, if you're constantly wearing a heavy foundation, it turns your skin ghastly because your skin isn't getting as much oxygen but I don't know if that's the actual case for your lips also :(

I'm wondering if the lead in lipsticks has anything to do with it...

Exfoliate your lips daily with a toothbrush.

I've never witnessed this phenomenon with either lipstick or foundation. I'm inclined to say that it is an illusion--you adjust to seeing yourself with makeup on, so when it isn't there your skin tone or lips look drastically different when in fact they haven't changed.

It's kind of like when you have braces and you get them off and think your teeth look enormous. Just an optical adjustment.
