I currently have dark brown hair. I am itching for a change! I'm no stranger to at home hair coloring experiments. I was curious if anyone has gone blonde successfully? (avoiding that yellow color) I'm looking for more of an ashy blonde. Thanks beauties!

I recently bleached my hair blonde at home, I started off using soap caps to lighten my base color and then began bleaching my hair about one or two shades at a time. I had some trouble keeping the bleach on length and ends of my hair moist, so they came out more yellow than my roots, which look bright and blonde. I'm going to add some streaks to my hair and wrap the ends in plastic wrap to keep the bleach moist this time. Hopefully that will brighten them up. Then I plan to use a clear glaze with some red/gold corrector added in. I have also noticed that my hair gets darker after a day or two of not washing, so it looks best when it's fresh and clean and can appear a little yellow when it's not. :) hope this helps.

I have done it successfully multiple times from many different colours and I'm now at platinum blonde.. It can take quite a bit to get it right though sometimes which can be more damaging (although I don't care about damaging my own hair).. But I would say dint you box dye from the supermarket of pharmacy, it just doesn't work for me and my hair is naturally blonde.

I'm blonde without healthy hair thanks to a talented stylist. I'd advise against trying it at home if you lack experience.
