"High end" doesn't always mean better. I use Maybelline Clump Crusher Mascara and people always ask me if my eyelashes are fake! But their not. The mascara lengthens and adds volume but, it also combs through your lashes so they don't clump. It's amazing mascara, it's only $10 and it's absolutely awesome! I would highly recommend it even thought it's not "high end."

I have normal length lashes (not long, but not short), and I find that I always my lashes look longer and more defined lashes when use Benefit's Bad Gal mascara. For some reason my lashes can't hold a curl all day so I use the waterproof formula and it keeps my lashes curled like a dream. However, I love L'Oreal's Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof mascara, it makes my lashes look super long, thick and dark but still natural!
