I prefer powder unless I need a very dramatic brow.

I use a wax and a powder. I say powder because it looks more natural

I used to use Anastasia's Brow Wiz, but after I ran out I actually switched to using Loreal's single eyeshadow (it's a matte, dark brown) and I have to say, I actually like it a lot more! It's easier to use and I end up with a more "natural" look. :)

Depending on the pencil, it's better to use eyeshadow. Some cheap pencils make it look unnatural, jagged and crayon like. Some are great. I use a pencil to outline and darken the areas I want to stand out (my arch) and use an angle brush and eyeshadow for the rest

I use powder because it blends into my brows and doesn't just show up on the skin & even if the color is off with powder it'll blend (unlike pencil I think). I use a dior eyeshadow to do my brows that are dark brown. I know Dior is expensive but I just bought a really similar color from Inglot off of beautylish that is almost the same

I recently just switched from a pencil to powder. A pencil is obviously quicker to use. I find that unless I go at it with a light hand, my brow can be unnaturally dark in certain spots and it can be hard to buff it out to make it even. Also for me the pencil seems to kind of disappear off my face after a few hours. Powder takes longer to apply, but it's really easy to manipulate to get the right shade (since you can mix shadows) and once it's set with gel it stays put. I guess it really is personal preference it pays to have both in your makeup kit. I get all my eyebrow pencils and powders from sephora. The powder kit was about $20 and the pencil was around $12. (Sorry this is so long lol)

I have to use both cause my eyebrows are so thin (naturally) and a weird shape so I kinda have to 'draw' some areas unfortunately :/ but it looks good blended with a dark brown matte eyeshadow afterwards.
