Ok guys so I'm a little confused when it comes to concealer. I have been told that youe concealer should always be one shade lighter. I am NC42 foundation with MAC and have asked for concealer.twice from the MUA and thwy have given me NC42 concealer. I also got ky make up done yesterday and that make up artist gave me NW30 concealer. They both looked fine on but why 2 completely different concealers and why was one the same as my foundation?

When you go lighter that's just to highlight like the bridge of your nose, cupid bow, and nose, and also under you eyes basically where light naturally hits. The same color as your foundation is just to cover up spots on your face like acne scar, redness, ect
Hope that helps

I have heard if you want to hide something it should be a shade darker if you think about contouring your face the features you want to hide you usually use a dark/matte bronzer (like my double chin for example) so if I have raised pimples or something texture wise on my face that stands out that I want to hide I find going slightly darker helps to hide it better... and any time you use a shade lighter it does make it stand out on your face more so if you have bags under your eyes a shade lighter there will only make them look more enlarged I think...
