Soooooo I'm going to dye my hair for the first time in a little over a year. Is it better to wash your hair a day before?

When dyeing your hair, it shouldn't be freshly washed. I wash my hair in the morning, and then dye it in the evening when I'm home from classes etc. If your hair isn't oily, I'm sure it'll be fine if you wash it the day before and then dye it the next day.
