Either I'm not applying right or I'm not picking the right color lol. I want a flawless face but whenever I use foundation, it's not giving me what I'm picturing at all? Anyone know of some tips? I'm really oily in my T zone, really mild breakout around my chin and my cheeks and I have some acne scars :/

Use primer & a finishing spray, I get the cakey look too and sometimes there's nothing you can do but apply more powder.

You can try tis step
1) after skincare, apply pore primer like benefit or others brand such hv minimize pore.. cos tis will help to less oily.
2) after apply foundation, use oil blotted to press on yr face, dun swipe. jz dap on oily t zone or where you get oily. then continue yr step to apply powder, blush and etc.
3) after finish yr makeup, if you still can see little bit shining or oily, jz use oil blotted or tissue to dap on face (dun swipe). lastly spray setting yr makeup
I hope tis can help you :) cos everyone hv different skin types, hard to explain or fixed techniques. jz keep trying some step to less our face prob.

If you're really oily I recommend milk of manganese as a primer. A little unconventional, but it works wonders for my oily skin and has great priming powers. It's a pretty noticeable difference on days I use it and don't. For a spray, Urban Decays setting cooling spray or deslick would be great. They're fabulous!
It could also be the way you're applying it, or if you're using too much, or what you're setting it with.

And if you look cakey, adding more powder is definitely not what you want to do haha.

Mist your face with a spray! I like fix+ by MAC but you can make your own with some water and witch hazel.
