Back in January I had highlights in my hair. I have naturally dark brown hair and I had partial golden coloured highlights put in. I got tired of it because I thought it looked horrible and it was too much work to keep getting them touched up so I dyed my hair a brown a few shades lighter than my natural colour. It was a permanent colour but it all washed out in a week. I dyed my hair again a few weeks later and it went a nice dark brown which stayed for about 3 weeks and then most of it washed out. I have no idea how to get rid of the blonde and it's driving me crazy. I've had highlights before and never had this problem. I was always able to go back to my natural colour but it seems every time I try something it just washes out even though it's a permanent colour. Any suggestions?

I suggest a professional salon to ensure it's done properly and to prevent damage.

Bleached blonde hair looses color quickly, its just part of the game really but using one to two colors on those areas will help fight the fade.
think of a mosaic, how it has all those different individual colors but from far away it appears as one color or a transition between two colors. thats how hair color works too.
you were dying your hair to the brown you wanted but that brown dye didnt include all the other colors that are still naturally present in your un-bleached hair. those highlights need the warm yellows, oranges, reds, and some blues back into it for the brown to really take. Best thing to do is visit a pro about it so they can get the right colors back into that hair for you.
