A wand is your best bet, curls stay in so much longer than a regular curling iron.

Try applying some styling mousse in your hair after you towel dry it. Use hair spray and perhaps avoid humidity. I live in England and the air humidity here is playing with my hair as well. Oh and maybe try some volumising haircare/hairstyling products.

And I agree with Erica, a curling wand is the best choice, the results are really good, sharp curls, just run you fingers through them and you're done.

When you curl your hair with a want or flat iron make a pin curl. A curl needs to set before letting loose then spray with hairspray is a must. But at the salon we set the hair into pincurls to let the heat set the curl:) I think I might make a video on it soon!

Got2be curl booster. It's a yellow bottle and its a spray. I do a lot of friends hair for dances and I Always use it. It's amazing! I've had it forever and. It holds every curl. Spray it in all over your hair before you curl it :)

Get layers! Hair holds better when it has different planes.

And mouse your ends before curling! Then finger brush them after you have done your whole end to get rid of the stiffness

I'm a cosmetologist so let me give you some beauty school knowledge!
Hot curls cool is just as important as how they are heated up. If you want really bouncy curls, letting them cool flat and over stretched is not the answer! Invest in little metal hair clips, I suggest roller pins, from your local beauty supply and use them to secure your curl to the base of your sections (basically near your roots). For waves, like braiding your hair over night, apply moose when its wet and then make sure its fully dried before taking out the braids. Also, give your hair time to cool after getting out of bed. I also wrap my head with a scarf when I have it set for over night to keep the heat in and ensure the best results.
It might just be the weather of the area you live in as well so look into anti- humidity products or wind proof styles.
